TOPIC:

We have 500 kg of Muntons Light Spraymalt reserved, and arriving here next week. Unfortunately Muntons wont pack it (at this price) in smaller bags, so its either 25 Kg or 500g!

We dont really want to do it here. Does anybody know of a company that can repack it for us, preferrably near Galway so that we can drive there and back?

I presume it needs a low humidity environment?

It's like somebody has sprayed glue all over the kitchen by the time I've finished.

A low humidity environment would be definitely the way to go. Or a cold shed. Cold air holds less moisture.

I can't see it been a problem to do it in the warehouse with the proper preparation but i wouldn't chance it at home <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

I'd imagine that the place to do it would be in a large cold room, very cold even, the lower temperature would also be a low humidity environment.

500 Kg is double what we ordered the last time, but we weren't able to supply everybody then.

Hmmm, I suppose we are a bit nervous of food safety regulations and the legality of repackaging it ourselves.

We would far prefer to outsource it if we could. If we paid a Euro per kilo for, say 300 KG bagged in 1 Kg bags. This way we could sell 1 Kg bags for about 5 Euros.

Have a gander here, I think you'd only need the HACCP and a staff member with the relevant certs which having worked in catering shouldn't be more than a days work to get.(could be way out on that)
