Ah, this could be very interesting! Now, all we have to do is source 5 Kg bags and figure out how to vacuum pack 100 g bags in a clean room environment. Also, I think if we do this, we would identify the original supplier on the packet so you know exactly what you are getting.

well, that would be our old friend Charles Faram in Worcester. Dr. Jacoby and I successfully divvied up a 5kg bag of EKG that I picked up on the way through England, and packed it with a lidl vacpacker, no probs. Kitchen smelled great. We felt like drug dealers

My stuff arrived this morning. Thanks again Brian.

Perhaps someone can sticky the post with the discount? It is rather far in and unlikely for someone not following this thread to know about it.

Hi guys, we have ordered a few Electrim 75 Immersion Heaters. These supposedly wonderful little gadgets are the same price (approx) as a heating belt, but keep the fermentation temp. within 1 oC of the ideal temp. They come preset at 23 oC plus/minus 1 oC, but can be adjusted.

Have you guys ever used one of them? I would imagine that other than low temperature fermentation, an advantage commercial brewers have is better temp control than we can achieve. So this little gadget seems quite interesting.

I used to design control systems for continuous distillers, and also for large fermenters. In order to get good quality wash, temp control within about a degree C was essential. So I presume the same holds true for beer and wine?

It is probably not needed for your average homebrewer as room temp is good enough but for people who brew in sheds or have a basement/cellar then it would be pretty useful.

Also beer making control freaks might use it There are some in ICB I would think
