My 25kg of DME arrived <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

I should have got it delivered to home instead of work....I didn't cop on that 25kg is pretty tough to carry any sort of distance!

The bag has a knot in it that can be re-tied so I think I'll just store mine in the bag and box it came in, being very careful to keep it dry when taking DMe out of the bag.

Box says "Ideal storage temperature 5-15 degrees"

I just placed my first order so we will see how it goes. I like the fact there is free shipping on orders over €140 and by God I was able to find stuff to get my free shipping <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Brian I expect my glass carboy to arrive undamaged, I see a disclaimer claiming you can not be held responsible but as far as I (and the law I am sure) goes, If the goods are not fit for their purpose (broken) then you as the retailer are responsible, no matter how well you packed it.
Just thought I should point it out, its the same as shops claiming they do not offer refunds. It goes against our wonderful consumer protection act and is therefore illegal.

Oh and I am not singling homebrewwest out in this either, I am pretty sure they all have a disclaimer like that.

Where is our ICB discount? <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

If homebrewwest ship something and it gets damaged in transit, is it not the currier that has to cough up?

i.e you return the damaged good to homebrewwest for replacement, and homebrewwest claims from the currier? So the currier has to cough up.
Thats how I'd imagine it goes?

I like the sound of an ICB Discount....... <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

It will ship tomorrow, and you should have it all Wednesday. We have to put up with that disclaimer from our suppliers, so we just thought it was smart to pass it on. But I figure you are probably right. We've shipped loads of them all over, as far as the highlands in Scotland, and none have broken so far. But if it does, we will replace it. We used to sell them for about 29, but we HATE shipping them, it takes for ages to pack them in bubble wrap, so we had to increase the price by a couple of Euros.

5% discount for ICB members. OK, but we dont want to do it at checkout as it adds an extra layer. Giving refunds is awkward too, takes days and very hard to track! So here's a solution that might work:
- put order through as normal,
- email us immediately and tell us who you are,
- ask us to ship extra products to the value of 5% of the order for free,
- we will then chuck them in for free before we ship.

The trick will be to send the email right away, before we ship the main order.
