The sticking point is transparency.
Blue Moon notoriously doesn't say "Coors" on the label in the US, and this beer sells twice what Sierra Nevada Pale Ale sells.
I promise you that a portion of those consumers believe they're drinking a beer from a small, independent brewery. That's a problem for me, as it should be for any consumer advocacy group.
Blue Moon should say they have corporate ownership on the label, as should Sharp's and Worthington's and Kona and Widmer and Red Hook and, now, Franciscan Well.
