No, but these are easily fabricated from a number of things, in my case some scrap plywood and a plastic storage container for the hopper. cheap drills cost 20 euro

sure, if it was a straight trade off between a hand grinder and, well, nothing... in the event that I have to pay for something I think I'd rather keep my 85 euro and put it towards a proper mill is what I was saying

Personally I'd rather not burn out my cordless trying something like this, mains powered drills are surely the way to go?[/quote:29b6zsoc]

It all depends on the drill, what is the rating? I have a really wimpy cordless that probably wouldn't manage it, but then it can barely drill through wood If you have a decent one I'm sure it would be fine. I run my drill on about setting 3 of 5. Will you be crushing somewhere that has no mains? It will take probably about 5-10 minutes to crush 15KG

When I first used my cranknstein mill with my large black & decker drill I was quite surprised about the torque it generated.

The mill was fitted to a round wooden base ( as recommended by various people ) and sat on top of a plastic bucket. There was a small hopper fitted. At one point the rollers grabbed and stalled a bit and the whole set up flipped over - grain everywhere! The mill needs anchoring down if you try to do it on your own i.e. one hand holds the drill the other keeps the hopper topped up!

I would think hand cranking is a bit tedious

As said I am willing to take one for the team and can run a large 19KG grain bill through it and let everyone know if it's doable.

p.s. what happens when the zombipocalypse comes and the electricity goes down? Where will your drill powered grinder leave you then?

Totally agree with Richie and Will - most people already have a drill or two lying around and can knock up a hopper and a mount (piece of wood with a hole in it)

when that happens I will hook it up to some rats or children or something on a treadmill.
