Cork brewpubs - what a disappointment! 14 years 8 months ago #43

I do not intend prolonging this thread much longer and boring everyone silly but just to say -

"MarkTheBusMan" wrote: Thankfully the owners of the 2 premises took what I said on board and have expressed alot more maturity than some other members of this forum who are calling for my head on a plate!"

Are my gneuinely held fears / views lacking in maturity???

And secondly will I remain a member of Beoir -the jury is out on that one for the moment.

Just a quick question Ger, If smeone on the board had a bad bottle of Galway Hooker or O'Haras and posted it on the board would you feel the same way? Or is your lotalty to the 2 bars in question, making your decision for you?

This is a place of discusion for all memmbers when it comes to Irish craft beer and one member made this, end of! I think that the fact that you are even considering leaving the board is blowing this whole thing out of proportion,

I think its time to leave it alone now and move on!

In support of Ger

I have never had a bad bottle of O'Haras or Galway Hooker, If I have the worst bottle of irish craft, I would not complain on the forum, because that cause the closure of that business. If I was a bank manager and saw that a micro brewery that owed the bank money, that their beer is crap could cause me to pull that loan and cause that small business to close.

It grand taking the piss out of one of the macros, it will make no difference to them, but this could kill a small business.

Most of the members backing Mark are not self employed or running a business. The reality in the current economic climate the post was in bad taste.

The admin on the site think it's a few Cork people gone rebel, but that is not the case.

If a member like Ger c is considering resiging his membership, something is wrong with beoir.

Mark the busman is entitled to his view, but not a malice view of the world, just to win the argument and put the cork people in their box.

If all the micros are in business in 5 years time , I will buy Mark the busman a pint from each brewery, if he consents to removing this post in the interest of the economy not winning the argument over the silly rebels.

I have made my points about this thread already and will not go back over that ground. But this is not on:

Now you are accusing me of not taking this seriously because the pubs and members in question you in Cork?

When have I ever given you that impression? When have I ever said anything agaist Cork, Cork members or Cork pubs?

I have always supported the Irish craft beer sene no matter where the breweries or pubs are and to be accused of treating one section of the industry or one group of members differently because of where they are is downright insulting.
