very mature position taken by the mods on this one i think.
we need a fair and open forum and we have one.

the op would not be enough to make me avoid these pubs as i read the whole thing and understood the factors that made it a bad expierience for him. most pubs i frequent have bad and good days and hours to visit and all have plus and minus points.

Perhaps as so many people are both for/against this, and both parties have agreed that it is personal opinion and perhaps bad timing, Mark may consider editing his post slightly.

While not changing the main body of the content, it would be sufficient to add a section at the top in a different color or font with something to the following effect...

This alone should entice people to read more than the first post on its own, allows people to come to their own decision on the matter, and hopefully will negate the "damage" that can be caused "in these financial times"?

Best of both worlds here I think, everyone's opinion is highlighted and nobody feels their view was not expressed...

I think everything should be left as is. No-one should feel pressured into anything.

I think everyone knows where everyone stands, and best thing would be just for everyone to stand back, take a deep breath, and move onto the next interesting topic!
