Good one Dempsey, you should be a comedian ...... will I ever live that first post down?? For the record, SPA ain't all that bad compared to everything else on tap in your average boozer... they claim that it's produced in small individual batches...

Hi All,

My name is Martin, I'm living in Limerick City and having a bit of fun with this brewing lark. I've started with small batch extract brews in the last couple of months - with varying degrees of success, the wit was really really good ... the other half liked it even!...but the stout I poured down the drain. I attempted a partial mash chocolate stout last week, so am looking forward to seeing how that turns out. I've picked up lots of tips from here so thanks for all the advice so far!

Hi all,

Huwie here, Living in Limerick a good few years but from Wales originally (I sound like a paddy by now).
Love Ale, flat(ish), not too cold and from cask.
Grew up on Ales, my father being an ale drinker.

M[b:397kd0ma]y favourite Irish beer of the moment[/b:397kd0ma]: (very little accessible to me) - Howling Gale / Helvick Gold and Porterhouse plain (Thank you Dr John's).
[b:397kd0ma]My favourite brew of the year[/b:397kd0ma]: has to be Elderwych by Wychwood (tasted in the Angel in Lymington Hants) and in second place Dragons Fire Ale by Cerddin Brewery (From Cask in Anglesey).
My favourite beer of last night: Scarecrow by wychwood (bottle from Tesco 5 for €10)

I have brewed my own in the past, with mixed results. Have also made simple wines and ciders.
