Hi,

Steve here from South Australia.
Was reading some of the helpful info on this site then started reading the forum.
Have a 100 litre capacity brewery in the shed, brewing all grain. Brew into 50litre kegs and then into the tapped fridge. Can now brew a Aussie pint (425ml) for about 22 cents, not sure what that equates to in Ireland but here in Oz at the pub you will pay about $6-7 minimum.

Sounds like an awesome set up you have there - and from what I hear, Oz is pretty expensive so well done on the saving!

Where in Southern Australia are you?
I'm thinking of emigrating to Perth in WA soon - craft brew scene seems pretty good there from what I can tell / been told..

I have family in Perth. The well known saying in WA is:

I'm from Adelaide, now voted the 5th best city in the world to live <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
Perth is also a great spot, good weather and they do have a good craftbrew community over there, quite a few microbreweries have setup there.
The biggest of them called LittleFellas which brews Little Creatures beers have just been bought out by a Multinational company for $$$millions so they must have been doing something right.

Cool - I heard that Melbourne was recently voted the world's most livable city! I was there a few years ago and thought it was a cool place - weather reminded me of back here!
I've heard of Little Creatures alright, actually it's just around the corner from my sisters - think they frequent it fairly regularly. I'll be home from home when i'm over there hopefully! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
What's the craft brew scene in Adelaide like?

Yes Melbourne came in number 1, not sure how, the weather there is crap, you get 4 seasons in one day <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
Adelaide no.5, Sydney no.6 and Perth no 9 according to some higher authority, 4 in the top 10 in the world and we have everything here that can bite, main, paralyse and kill you as well, sweet <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->
The Adelaide craftbrew scene is getting stronger, not as good as WA, but a local crafty here just beat Coopers Brewery (which is a great brewery) to the top prize in the last awards so not a bad effort that.
