hey formations - roasting sound interesting - do u have a dedicated machine or have gone down the diy route ?

Been researching the various options the last while - would be nice to get your take on how you do it !

Hi guys,

Been going through the forums here and on boards for awhile.

First brew is done and going into bottles tonight or sunday. The waiting is the worst part

hi newtobrew

sorry i thought had replied to you but it didn't post
i use a Gene Cafe dedicated coffee roaster

its pricey but does a great job

i used to do it in a steel bowl with a heat gun
but its a pain in the ass, other people have modified
an popcorn popper but i didnt have much luck with my attempt, there are not many ways to do it with out a proper machine as they need to keep moving to get an even roast,
maybe, have a read around, there may be cheaper machines
or new ideas on methods of roasting

its pricey getting set up for making decent espresso,
filter coffee making is a lot cheaper
