Hi recently took an early retirement option from Guinness, looking forward to brewing at a much smaller scale. I'm intending to start with a Christmas brew and see how it goes from there
I fear this could be the start of a consuming hobby

Originally an electrician, finished up as a Brewer, worked there for 36 years so basically worked in all departments at one stage or another

Hi Folks,

Ian here - just signed up to Beoir there last week. Picked up one of your flyers at the craft beer festival in the RDS a couple of months back (great festival by the way!) and have been meaning to sign up since. Good to see there is such an active group in Ireland and plenty of like-minded folk around. Hope to make it along to one of your meetups at some stage.

I've just embarked on my first home brewing experiment recently too. Hopefully something relatively straightforward for my first attempt - the Woodforde's Wherry kit. Looking forward to picking up a few tips from Beoir for this & future brews!

Have set up a blog to track my progress and talk beer in general if anyone is interested in having a nosey please feel free. It's at hillsters-brew.blogspot.com/ :)

Ian

Welcome to the site, Ian. Good choice of first kit too: I've never tasted a bad Wherry.

Thanks John! I had a sneaky taste of the sample I took out to measure the SG after the initial fermentation subsided and I have to say it tastes pretty good already! Hopefully it will only get better from here!
