Hello - it was pleasure to meet Sean, John and the other ICBers in the Bull and Castle last Saturday and I was glad to hear the White Gypsy Brewery opened in fine style.

I've been lurking on this site for ages but have rarely been moved to make a comment. My dad was a barman and publican (who had a habit of ranting about the 'gangsterism' of Guinness corp.) and I worked in pubs for years myself. It always depressed me that although we're a great beer-guzzling nation we seem to embrace bland insipid piss. Attitudes are definitely changing though and, as an outsider, I think ICB (along with the Porterhouse, B&C, Galway Hooker, Farmleigh etc.) have certainly played a role in this - keep up the evangelical zeal!

Long-time drinker, first time brewer, awaiting the results of my first kit brew.
It was fantastic to find a community of people who like beer as much (and more) as I do.

Hey everyone,

My names Brian, from Cork and a big time newbie to this brewing Craic. Just starting with the beginners kits a few months back, and loving it every since. Before this my beer of choice on a night out was Carlsberg and a bottle of Bud Light was my "Ten-to-Two" girl, ever since I started brewing I can't can't find anything in pubs as good as home-brew.

Word of warning to anyone out there who is yet to brew their first batch, don't taste your first batch until you've started your second. If it turns out anything like mine did it'll put you off the whole process. My second batch was amazing.
