I am brewing on and off for 30 years but since discovering ICB feel like an amateur when I see the wealth of knowledge, advice and information here. Still get a huge buzz when all the ingredients come together and the yeast has done its fabulous work - could watch those bubbles rise forever but you have to drink it. In spite of all the dire warnings I have never had a really undrinkable brew - or maybe my tastebuds aren't too fussy!

Hey Wallace,
If you want to show your taste buds what a bad beer tastes like, get yourself; a cheap lager kit, a heating belt and a lot of sugar (enough to get fermentation going 2 or 3 more times) and put it all into a King Keg which the gas can escape from and leave for 6 weeks. That was my first batch. This happened, one because there were too many brewers and two, the brewers were fuelled with, you guessed it, beer. I think I broke every rule in the book that time, but fortunately I've learned since.

That made me laugh Nearly did just that tonight with an experimental cider using apple juice, apples and sugar - too much sugar and had to water it down a bit to reduce the OG. I can't do strong drink anymore!

Hi I'm Alan. I'm a recently reformed Guinness drinker who discovered O'Hara's a few months ago. Since then I've taken a liking to Galway Hooker and Clotworthy Dobbin.

I don't do any brewing or anything but I like drinkin'
