I'm sorry, but that's an appeal to authority. It's effectively saying that what AMBC does is OK because he knows business and you don't, so you have no right to question it. Exactly what qualifications are required to have an opinion? Surely being able to make valid points should be enough.

I don't question the effectiveness of the AMBC tactic of implying Irishness, nor do I question it's legality. I'm sure there was legal advice taken and the AMBC ass is covered.

What I do question is the honesty of the tactic. It is misleading and deliberately so, which leads me to wonder if there are other ways we are being misled. Like about future plans to set up a brewery, for instance.

What I find ironic is that this business has admittedly set the beer in second place, behind the marketing, but it is the marketing people have problems with.

Can we stick to the topic, and keep the 'my blog is bigger than your blog' stuff between yourselves?

I was making an analogy about the outsourcing of artisan products, and why consumers might be suspicious of it.

I don't think anyone else on here is sad enough to have a blog.

The Brooklyn Brewing Company was brewing in upstate NY for years before they opened a brewery in Brooklyn. Also, the Boston Beer Company (Sam Adams) brews most of its beer in Cincinati.

The Brooklyn brewing company rarely comes in for criticism by beers lovers.

Whereas we have only marginally more craft breweries than Iran. So when it looks like there's a new one, but then there isn't, it's an extra cause for complaint.

Oh, in that case it isn't dishonest at all to imply that a beer is Irish but have it developed, brewed and bottled in a completely different country.
