Negativity is part of having opinions. If we were to be positive about everything, then our opinions would be effectively worthless. I am not going to apologise for my opinions or stating them in whatever way I see fit. Nor do I think anyone else who participated in this thread has anything to apologise for.

This board is about the free exchange of information and opinions and you can't do that if you have to pussyfoot around in case someone's feelings get hurt.

If you have something to say, spit it out. If you have a problem with someone's opinion, sate it. But don't come at us with this vague self appointed censor crap.

If anyone goes too far, it is up to Barry or I to moderate this forum. So, in future, if you have an issue with a post or thread, please PM one of us and let us know what the problem is.

I'm actually pretty taken a back with what you just said there Sbillings. I did mention opinions are part of life, im not suggesting some kind of censorship here, so dont jump down my throat. I dont have anything to 'spit out' I see this whole thing from both points of view, but our love for beer is why we are all here after all, i know i have learned a great deal form the people on here.

I found some of the comments on the thread to be perhaps a little harsh on the guy, but i in NO way ever suggested that the comments were nasty nor should there be any need for them to be moderated. Im pretty sorry i wrote in this thread to be honest, coming back to see a rant like that put on me. Im not getting caught up in an argument on here with someone i dont know.

Never had i suggested that you should curb your opinions Sbillings, nor would i ever ask anyone else to do so. Im quite possibly the most opinionated person i know! Regardless, i am a rational guy, and i can see your point of view and i can also see how my comment was percieved to suggest there was comments made that should be moderated....in reality, it was more of a comment to lighten the mood a little.

I dont really know what else to say here, if anyone took me up in a similar way then i do apologise.

Can you be more specific, because I don't think that anything stated here has been too bad. We're a witty bunch (some more than others) and I think that any 'cheeky' statements are better described as shrewd commentary on the subject we are discussing.

The discussion has been passionate because we're beer fanatics, and a number of posters have been misunderstood because of the limitations of the written word (or our grasp of it).

As I have already stated I think this thread has been little more than robust debate. You seem to have proferred an opinion about something that you don't really believe. You don't really seem to think that things have got out of hand but posted something to this effect anyway. You were just unfortunate that someone took issue with you. You've clarified your position with me, but you have to be prepared to rigorously defend your position (especially when S Billings is around...)
