i've been watching this thread for some time now, finally i think i am ready to say my piece,
I am optimistic about the emergance of new suppliers into the homebrew sector but i am also very wary of their presence. i do not know whether these suppliers actually brew themselves or even if they know anything about brewing and feel that they may do more damage than good. The present stock situation does not look good but could be easily improved upon, a few very good suggestions have been made on this topic already so i'll leave it at that. in short i like the entrepreneurial spirit but would like to see a more brewing and less business orientated approach, striking a balance between the two should be essential.
For the moment i will be sticking with the ever trusty HBC who have proven themselves time and time again with speedy deliveries and a vast stock range @ prices that are not that much more expensive than the newer suppliers (price does not bother me too much it is the overall service i am paying for and in that regard the HBC are the proven best in ireland with a solid track record), the wealth of knowledge available from shane is also useful especially for beginners who may not want to watch some dude do it by video which may, or may, not answer your specific question. someone please let me know when the new guys catch up and then i'll consider buying from them.
