Hi HomeBrewWest, welcome to the site.

Before you ditch the glass carboys from your site in favour of better bottles, be aware that not everybody likes them. They are certainly lighter than a carboy but then so is a plastic bucket. As far as I can see, better bottles combine the worst aspects of plastic buckets and carboys. They have the carboy's narrow neck, making them difficult to clean, but are made of plastic, like a bucket, making them more susceptible to playing host to house infections. I have recently moved to all stainless and glass fermentors.

If you are looking at expanding your range of products, there are storage considerations to take into account.

Hops, even when vacuum packed loose their potency with time, which is why they should be stored in a freezer. Liquid yeast is a delicate live culture and should be stored in a fridge, so that the maximum number of viable cells survive into the starter. Even dry yeast should be stored in a fridge.

I'm sorry for bluntly knocking the Craig videos. I didn't want to go on because I've seen plenty of arguments and mean-spirited comments about them elsewhere (which I'm suddenly the guilty party on) I just don't like them personally but I'm happy he made them none the less as so many people have started brewing because of them. I will say I'd prefer a video that didn't use bleach, and why does he boil a no boil kit? Personally I would put up links to several videos, or try making one myself (this could lead to a lot of new customers by using a youtube video as an advert) Coopers themselves have one but it is very "Hey presto" as you mentioned.

To your website, it is nice to see that you are listening and willing to expand your stock based on feedback here. I may buy myself an autosyphon off you, they are great value.

I did notice you sell the CO2 bulbs. Do you sell the kits for these or are you relying on customers who already have the set? I couldn't find the valve holder thing.

Best of luck in your endeavour...

Best of luck with the new business especially at this time, but the homebrwers have become very discerning over the last few years and do expect fresh, good quality ingredient.

Best of luck with the business!

I would say most people on this site buy stuff other than kits.

I have better bottles and really like them. I have the ones with a tap on the bottom. This makes them much easier to use even if they are a bit more expensive than the plain ones.

Just ordered some kit off homebrewwest. Seems like good prices compared to the rest. Messed up my order a bit and they were kind enough to help me out..Seems a bit rough and ready at the mo but if everything arrives ok (fingers crossed) then I'll defo be back..How bad.
