Interesting. And you only found [i:vk6q1hyk]the [/i:vk6q1hyk]site for Irish homebrewers [i:vk6q1hyk]after [/i:vk6q1hyk]you set up business? Don't know what that says about our media machine (despite several TV and radio appearances recently)

Careful though. Distillation is illegal in Ireland (but not in Germany, and oddly enough, friends were looking at buying a still from NZ, but that's for another conversation).

Hi Brian
Thanks for clearing up some questions. I wondered if a rep from the site would pop along.

Listen can I make two comments without trying to be nasty.

Firstly, your range is too low for most homebrewers on this site. There are still some kit brewers but mainly we are extract or all grain.
Get a bigger stock lineup that might interest us and you will get more business.
Your prices are pretty reasonable as you say.

Secondly... please get someone to do your website professionally. Right now it is I am sorry to say, very ugly and uses animated gifs not seen since the early 90s when I first started designing websites. That said, I have seen much worse homebrew shop websites

I am not pimping myself but please look into getting a pro to do it. I probably would not have the time to look after a commercial site myself.
Simple is better, get rid of the animations and use real images.

I look forward to seeing how you progress and wish you good luck. Get more stock, including equipment and I may be a customer.

Oh and I like craig, I watched all his videos when I first started. Nice and simple.

Oh and next time I update my blog I will stick a link on it for you.

+1 on the stock. I brewed one kit. My second brew was extract. My third brew was extract with steeping grains. Who knows what my fourth will be.....so your long term, high value customers probably won't be ordering kits. Of course the problem with that is, carrying stock costs money so I can understand why you're starting out with a limited selection.

Checked out that other site. You win on price, homebrew.ie wins on website design, homebrewcompany.ie wins on stock selection

Well NZ is a long way away. And there is really only one surviving still company there (Spill Spirits AKA Fermtech, they kinda bought up all Spirits Unlimited stores in Aussie). I designed their still, but a continuous version of it (so much smaller and cooler). Check out "Gert Strands", never went there but he's kinda innovative if you are paranoid about distilling. Three guys really in recent history went all out on home distillation: Malcolm Wilmott, Gert Strands, and the guy who doesn't come up in search engines (he wasn't an Internet guy, but he owns all the stores in Austalisia). And his distillation products are apearing worldwide.

Did you guys know that, worldwide, they all get their yeasts from a single company? And that includes the lesser technical stuff like beer and wine yeasts. Worldwide!

Animated gifs sooo gone next time I update the site. Thanks.

And stocks! Come on guys, tell me what you want me to stock and I'll supply it at our prices, same margins as all our other stock. And, yes I am kinda afraid to order stock that might not sell; because they do have an expiry date. Can you put up with a delay of a week or so? Hows about you order whatever you want at our prices (give me a product and I'll quote) and then I'll order it for you.

... Brian
