A very dark stout or brutally dark tea which is nearly opache would be closest to the original trick.

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href=""> explain the trick of 2 small holes in the doublewalled glass.

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href=""> is a larger one, its possible to get larger than that. Or you can make them.
Bit of teaching the actors or bit of tape flicked by finger and the beer level can be controlled.

Hi All,
Des here from the theatre - this is not a ruse by custom and excise!
It is a real probelm I am trying to solve and I am really grateful for all of your comments and suggestions.
I think lashing a load of NA cans or bottles into a corny [b:6ct0rq4x]or [/b:6ct0rq4x]
Will's recipe are the most workable solutions offered so far, given our situation in the theatre (ie not a brewery!)

I was excited by Will's recipe idea as it was the kind of idea I was coming around to myself.

BUT
[b:6ct0rq4x]One of the unique properties of beer is that its the only liquid that will sustain foam.
Even with heading agent it will look more like a mineral than a beer.[/quote][/b:6ct0rq4x]

So maybe the recipe is not the right way to go...

Would it really work to just pour NA beer into a corny?
Could it really be that simple a solution?
That would be GREAT!

Thanks again for all the help.

Oops,
Think I posted twice there.
Anyway, if anyone can make this happen for me, we would happily pay for the service - I do have a small budget to cover this.

Thanks again,

Des, if your in Dublin I'd be happy to help you out for a small donation to Beoir. I don't have any of the gear you'd need though so you'd have to buy or rent that. I'm fairly sure that using bottles of non-alcoholic beer in a corny would work out fine for you, providing you get the gas out of them a bit by stirring them up for a while. You can cool it by keeping the corny in a bucket of ice packs.

I think you'll be best off just putting in what you need each night as without the alcohol as a preservative I'm not sure how long it would remain drinkable. Your also going to have to keep things sanitised between uses.

Send me a message if you want to have a chat about it.

If anyone can see a flaw in the plan speak up!

I think the idea is to keep the gas in so as to present a nice head on the pint of kegged beer.

The only problenm I see about pouring bottles into a cornie is COST.

Hence the recipe idea. I rekon that a good dose of heading agent and a good gas pressure would put a head on!

Why not try it ( on say a 5 L sample ) for real?
