or just 6 bottles of non alcoholic beer, Erdinger or whatever, pour them in a corny, stir them up for a bit to de-gas and thats it. Is there a need to try and make non alcoholic beer (which is hard) when you can buy it in the shop?

Yes,
Cost!!
They want a lot more than 6 bottles of Erdy!
[edit] Just checked and its 400 pints or 500ml bottles so that €800 in new money!!

One of the unique properties of beer is that its the only liquid that will sustain foam.
Even with heading agent it will look more like a mineral than a beer.[/quote:q76af2n6]
Just make the cask clip look like an English ale from the 80's No sign of head retention in those days!
I wouldn't have thought the cost was much of an issue as getting bottles put in a keg was one of the things he'd already considered.
I feel a bit sorry for the actors having to go through all that non-alcoholic beer though, its going to be a test of strength after a few weeks! Might be a good idea to change the drinks from night to night or they are going to get seriously pissed off with it.

The catch is that it needs to be served on tap - so we would need 5 kegs of non-alcholic beer for the show-run. We estimate they will drink 400 pints during the production. I have already tried Erdinger in Germany and Kaliber (Diageo) and neither is available in

Speaking as the guy that has been the "nominated driver" and consumed in quantity go out tomorrow and buy yourself a bottle of non alcoholic lager and see how easy it goes down its rank, multiply that by 4 and then every night for a month you will half kill your actors!
An easier solution must be to give them opaque glasses or Steins or have bar taps that give the impression that you are serving beer but hidden from the audience so you can fill with coloured water or perhaps trick double skinned glasses to give the impression they are drinking.
Do buy them a real beer at the end of the week
