Hey guys, doing my best to catch up on what i've missed (its alot of reading!)...

I'm loving this idea! Competitive drinking almost.... <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

I regret missing ths stouts but I'd definately make myself available for ales. I'd agree with Adeptus. I think the heavier ales such as Old Peculiar would stand out like a sore thumb but you could always throw in a few others with similar characteristcs like Old Suffolk or Fullers 1845.

[quote:34f62epm]London Pride-> Very nice quite hoppy
Hobgoblin-> Darker then the usual ale
Black Sheep-> Nice cant put my finger on why its differnet
Bishop’s Finger-> More mouth feel and a distinctive taste
Old Speckled Hen->Skunky mank [/quote:34f62epm]

From the previous post, I'd probably have a problem finding the diferences with the Wychwood and Black Sheep breweries, they'd be tough...

Here's a thought. I know how some of you guys here are crazy for the Americans. So much so I think you'd probably be able to guess a lot of them blind. But what if you didn't know what americans were being tasted. Anyone here think they could guess Sierra Nevada Pale Ale from just the taste? Or maybe a Samuel Adams Boston Lager? One thing is for sure, I know some of you could smell a bottle of Goose Island IPA being opened in the next room....

Where/when do you want to try this? A house or a pub?

I still think one of the regular meetings would be a good idea. One where we don't have a whole lot of homebrew, perhaps.
