Could you tell the difference? 17 years 11 months ago #1

What beers could you tell apart in a blind tasting?
Stouts: Guinness, Beamish, Murphys, O'Hara
Reds:Smithicks, McArdles, Beamish, Franciscan, Porterhouse
Lagers:?

What do you think you would recognise? If you could not tell the difference what would that mean? Are you willing to take the Pepsi challenge and try the test?

Some references that imply taste testing is very hard.

We have a challenger!

I reckon the stouts would be the hard one. I *think* I could do the reds, but I know how difficult these things really are.

the difficult part is finding somewhere that sells all 4 (on tap that is...I don't think I've ever drunk Beamish from a can)

O'Neill's on Suffolk Street, I'd say. Anyway, nobody said anything about draught.
