I have to say it was great fun - Im not sure what it proves, beyond what most of us already knew - ie that we dont know what all the commercail beers taste like. Seeing as we dont drink all the different stouts regularly (or ever in some cases) getting a blind selection right was always going to involve some blind luck <!-- s;-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s;-) -->

By way of other blind taste tests, the only thing I can suggest is to run tests from bottles (seeing as the supply of high volumes of draught is pretty rare in Ireland)

Your findings/observatiosn are good fun to read and glad you had a good timne. I am also a bit surprised that Murphy's came out so well. I am sure the folks at Heineken Ireland will be pleased!!!!!! I tend to drink either Murphy's or Beaamish in regular pubs but had a leaning recently towards Beamish but Muprhy's certainly has a more distinctive taste.

Well done again guys - as well as being home brewers you are all discerring experts on Irish commercial stouts - well one of you is anyway!!!! Can't say if I was there I would be any better but I certainly would not have thought the outcome would have been as it was!
