Oh I fully agree that it was great fun and well worth doing.

The fact that I learned something about my own tastes was probably the best result possible.

just wondering, did you all drinking a pint of each stout or was it a sip of each type of thing? Pints of stout generally (to me anyway) taste different as they get past halway gone. Whether this is temperature or pressure related (or in me head) I dunno

Four half pints each.

It was halves each. They actually have nice half-pint glasses in O'Neill's: short ones, closer in shape to pint glasses.

And we followed your earlier recommendation to use the snug in the front bar.

For all those who were there (a_friend_in_mead, Hendrixcat, Irish Party Ale, Jaegarboy, microgirl, rossa, sbillings, a_friend_in_mead's friend Mark) in the light of events the first three pages of this thread are hilarious.

What quotes in particular?

The best quotes are on page one, but I like your table:
[quote:1leg0m1a]Person Guiness Beamish Murphys O'Haras
A 1 0 0 1
b 1 1 1 1
c 0 0 1 1
d 0 0 0 0 [/quote:1leg0m1a]

Fairly on the money, as it turned out.
