First time I heard the phrase "Head Shop" used was when that one in town was burned down in an alleged arson attack, heard them talking about it on the radio. I had never heard the phrase before and instantly I assumed that they were talking about the costume shop beside the Gaiety theatre with all the wigs on mannequin heads in the window. Innocent life that I lead.

I'd much rather buy charley off some dodgy dude who's cut it with rat poison, that's the way it's always been and it should remain that way.

Hurrah for tradition.

Am I the only one who cynically thinks that all the protests and attacks are from the drug barons who are in direct competition with the [b:3f6e2vnf]legal[/b:3f6e2vnf] drugs.
On a related note, if these fleabitten treehuggers are so against legal drugs, why arent they stading outside all the shops selling cigarettes, the pubs selling alcohol, and the coffee shops selling coffee?

Hmmm, the first time [b:3f6e2vnf]I [/b:3f6e2vnf] heard the phrase "Head Shop" the words "massage parlour", and "happy ending" came to mind... that probably makes me a bad person

When I phoned Catherine Byrne about your very same question, she said head shops are not regulated.
I said so regulate them don't ban them, to which she replied " think of the children" before asking if I had children and then questioning my parenting, had she been in my proximity I would have punched her in the mouth.

She did not accept that regulating things for consenting adults is not the same argument as "will someone think of the children".
She also did not see that they already have regulatory systems in place for booze and baccy and could not get her head around the fact that it could similarly be applied to licensing head shops.

I was thoroughly unimpressed with her.
