Exactly, why is the beer they produce more expensive than pints of Irish craft beer they buy in. I have seen the prices for their own brand beer in the brew dock and ATG creep up form the mid €4 mark to the mid €5's in the less than 18 months. That's nearly a 25% increase.

They're still €4.60 a pint in The Dark Horse.

It's stupid pricing on their part because if, for the same price, it's a choice between their own stuff or the likes of a Metalman I'm always going to chose the latter.

Their whiskey prices are all about €1-2 more than the B&C as well.

Its a shame really as I'm sure Chris will start churning out some really really nice beer with the new brewery but, with those prices, most people will be drinking other stuff, hardly a sustainable business model as they are making a much bigger margin on their own stuff.

Theirs not a huge difference in wholesale price between Craft and macro beers so why is their a HUGE difference in the retail price?

A pint of Murphy in McDaids was €4.95, a pint of O'Hara's stout in O'Neills was €4.95. I presume this is a fairly typical price for central Dublin.

My gripe wasn't price of the pint at €5.50 or €5.70 it was the markup on the 2/3 pints. Depending on the beer on offer and my mood etc will treat myself to a so called expensive pint every so often. I will not treat myself to very expensive schooners of the same beer. I like to get a semblence of value when I make a purchase.
