Are you sure, goose island received massive investment after there take over. Taken over and investment by big brewers is craft beer industry will just have to get used to. There is not a lot of revenue streams for the taking now days and bigger brewers have cash to invest

There's the issue- the revenue pool is pretty static and craft/microbreweries are slowly gaining a larger share and this has the macros worried. They are starting to see that the only way to gain back this market share is to borg a few of the micros.

My immediate worry would be what is going to happen to the FW brewpub; I can't really see Molson Coors having any interest in it. Does anyone know if they have any previous form in buying bricks-and-mortar pubs?

Acquisition of small companies and there products is a stand business practices from food producers to Biotechs. Why build from scratch when someone is will to sell up with a working facility and product line.

IMO this is not bad news and is the sign of a healthy sector! The FW has grown and left the space they once occupied. A space a new small micro could step into.

On the caveat that this is true congratulations to the FW, this is quite an achievement.
