Intriguing, sounds like insider information

I presume you can't say any more rebel, but that sounds hopeful.

As bad as it does sound we all know there is obviously a market here, hence everyone who signed up here, someone will sort us out.

There's been a few rumours floating about regarding certain peope taking up the reins. Whether this was a business continuity plan or a seperate gig, I don't know, but where there's a market, there's an entrepreneur. (I hope! )

From a supply continuity perspective for patrons of the B&C, they knew something was happening, so they got in nearly 120 cases of belgian ales and 16 or so Goose IPA, plus a stock of others. The ration books may be coming out yet!

As an ex employee of Eurobeers, I can maybe give a little more information, however I'm gone since the end of July and haven't spoken to Barry since the doors closed a couple of weeks ago.

As I see it, there were two main reasons for its demise.
1. the loss of Koppaberg to Richmond Marketing (Red Bull, Tiger Beer, Butler's Chocolates, De Checco pasta etc.)
2. Below Cost Selling of beer in the supermarkets. They're selling beer to the public cheaper than we could import it!

I believe the Abbots Ale House will remain open which was connected but seperate. Don't know how its supply will be (time will tell)but I'd urge everybody to support Barry by purchasing there!

I know Cremin and Radley have taken up the draught Inbev products around Cork so hopefully the'll also take up some other lines. I will stop going to pubs if I can't get Schneiderweiss!! But I can't see anyone else bringing in the likes of Orval or Gulden Draak or Geuze Boon or Thomas Hardy ale or Samiclaus or or or or. I'm sad now!

It is probably true to say that Barry Fitzgerald started it all in Ireland and had a list beyond compare. These are sad times for beer lovers in Ireland. No more Hommel!!!!!!

You might think I'm crazy but if you have one bottle of Aventinus - make a beef stew out of it! Trust me.
