We can keep this general discussion open, but in the meantime, if people would like to mail me their suggested recipes, I'll start compiling them. (I won't be submitting a recipe myself.) 11th January as the deadline?

Tried and tested dirty big DIPA / Barleywine recipe
Marris otter 76.6%
Crystel 60 4.3%
Wheat Malt 3%
Amber Malt 2.1%
Cara Pils 2.2%
Vienna Malt 11.8%

Hopped with Chinook centennial Amarillo and cascade to 138IBU but can be easily tinkered with with the decided upon hipster hop.

Og 1.114
FG 1.020
11.2 ABV
Yeast Nottingham

Are we deciding a date also? Be good to lock in a weekend for that so we can arrange lodgings etc

Should we lock in a recipe first and then date?
Or a date first? And when suits people the most?
I'll see what Sam thinks regarding dates as he likely has some weekends he simply can't do so will check with him in the meantime.

Personally think we should be trying to lock in a date - at least have some options up - and we will be deciding the recipe shortly anyway.

Obviously we'll need to check with Sam what dates suit him.

As already there is the Cotton Ball at end Jan, Fran Well Cask Festival 15/16 Feb.

The dates that suits Sam the best are Jan 25th Feb 1st.

The 25th coincides with the cotton ball launch though that's not until 6pm - 9pm so doable if we got an early start but perhaps another date might be preferable. The rest of Feb would be out so next would be March I'd say.
