D+D did the whole thing for me for €25. Including a new O-ring Very decent guys.
Let them take it apart for you. It would be a pain in the ass to do without the thing they have for holding the bottle. When you see it done you'll know what I mean. I still have the dip tube in mine but I think if I were doing it again I would remove it. I will be interesting to compare "with tube" and "without tube".

Just saw something that makes sense.
Jacob, try turning the extinguisher upside down.
The reason for the tube is to get the liquid co2 from the bottom of the extinguisher where it gathers - handy for putting out fires it seems.
Turn the extinguisher upside down and it will gather at the the "valve end" and you'll get the gas from the "bottom end", which is now at the top - handy for dispensing beer it seems and not breaking your regulator.

Will be interesting to see if this solves your ice on your reg issue.

Not able to check it anymore... Tube removed, co2 refilled.

Haha - ok
Seems to be the done thing - big discussion on it on aussie home brewer forum.
1 guy said he saw what you saw when force carbing, turning it upside down fixed it.
The next time he went for a refill he just got the tube removed so he could use it upright.

Rossa - might be worth adding some of this info to your kegging article.

So if you don't want the risk of liquid gas comming out - turn the fire extringuiser upside down !!

Similarly if you want dry ice from a pub type CO2 bottle then turn the bottle upside down BUT beware of the valve freezing Use thick heat proof gloves if you try this

I bought a 5kg c02 fire ext from D&D in cookstown. Sound lads. Cost me 25 euro for a full tank. however, I encountered a problem attaching my reg to the ext. The reg I have is from mybeerandwine, and has a hex spout whereas the fire ext has a round spout. Therefore,it will not work.Has anybody else encountered this problem and if so could you help, cheers
