But we can
It's a point of distinction for a Pub .

Case in point . There are several city centre pubs in Cork that sell Franciscan Well Beers . Not out of a misguided sense of the Local . But because it works . It distinguishes these establishments ( along with everything else , staff , decor , entertainment ) and justifies the premium price paid .

The publican who owns 5 of these places is currently renovating another bar he has just bought and is negotiating for another high profile spot in Cork .

So if it's working for this guy ...

Thats great to hear, but I believe this relates more to larger urban centres (Dublin, Cork, Galway, Belfast) where there are enough people who give a fig about what they put in their mouths to support places that supply the good stuff.
Maybe in a few years it will be a case that the my cousins local in Cross, Co Mayo will lose trade to the competition if they dont have the hooker on tap. I look forward to the time, but I dont think that we're there yet!
It is going in the right direction, and walking out of a bar cos they dont have any nice beer is the only way I can think of to help it move faster

Especially if (a) enough people do it and (b) you let the owner/staff know why you're not leaving. Otherwise they might think it's because the decor is dated, the jukebox needs updating....

Just an observation but we do not hear of any craft beer in Limerick, it would seem to be a city without anybody brewing.
