The stout's amazing, but the porter just didn't do it for me.

My local Superquinn has now started stocking Schneider Weisse (Original and Kristal) - the nearest place selling it previously was Abbots in Cork. Price is €2.59.

My local Spar (the only decent off-licence in town) now has boxes of Shepherd & Neame. Four bottles in a box for a tenner. I wonder would the fact that it's boxed alleviate any, er, issues people have with the clear bottles.

I'll pick up a box this evening and see.

I saw this in the offlicence last night and of course I had to pick up a bottle:

I noticed it was brewed in Belgium, which seemed promising, but assuming Homer would not be a craft beer drinker I didn't get my hopes up. Sure enough it tasted like crappy yellow fizz. Still, nice one for the bottle collectors.

I finally picked up a box of Shepherd Neame lastnight. Master brew, Bishop's Finger, Whitstable, and, I think, Spitfire.
Anyway, I opened the Master Brew, and straight away the difference was apparent. It's like a different drink when it has been hidden away from nasty light. A lot more flavoursome and drinkable.
Not a bad price either. I may have to pick up another box.
