Actually, I've spoken to some of the marketing people behind this and I get the impression they were given an impossible task: make a site that raises the profile of beer generally and promotes it to go with food. Only... Heineken is signing the cheques, so, you know: you have to keep the boardroom happy.
End result: Desperados and green curry. <puke>

I think a lot of people will notice there is no Guinness, Carlsberg, Bud, etc and wonder is Heineken behind it as the bottle of Heineken takes pride of place on the site.
At least I would hope they would anyway.

They invited me to some launch party. I deleted the email. While free beer and food sounds good, the fact it will be Heineken or Tiger puts a dampner on it. Though Paulaner redeems it somewhat.
In the end, I decided that it's too much hassle for me to bother, though if I lived in Dublin I might be tempted.
