Hermmm..... not quite sure how I feel about this thread as a D&D playing, craft beer drinking female.
This notion of special glasses has been mentioned before, and I just don't get it at all - why do ladies need special glasses? bizarre.

As a non D&D playing, sometime craft beer drinking male, I don't always like a pint glass, I also dislike the standard 1/2 pint glass available in most pubs. I sometimes prefer a stem or chalice style glass. Maybe some ladies prefer a choice also.

Usually when I'm out with my wife I'd have three pints to her two. Seems like that proportion is the norm.

I can never understand why, when beer is sold from a tap, we must have fixed sized glasses. I can buy a 568ml pint or 330ml bottle of Howling Gale for example, both costing approx €5. Why can't I order 350ml of draught for say €3.50? Then we could drink both our beers and be finished in time to order the next round together.

If a pint of beer is €4 then how much is half a pint - they naturally say €2!!

No they wouldn't Will they'd say:

I use the Stella tulip glasses when I'm drinking from my kegs at home, they're 0.3 litre glasses and it's a very nice portion, especially when drinking rocket fuel cider.
If I'm drinking from bottles then I'll use pint glasses due to trying to avoid sediment.

I hate Nonix (spelling?) glasses.

I do like glasses that are chosen with the beer in mind (e.g. stemmed chalice for Belgian ales, straight sided pint glass for British mild etc) but I understand that is not always practical in a pub setting, not least because they are very attractive souvenirs.
