Was in Porterhouse Central the other night, majority of the crowd were female. Didn't notice what glasses they were drinking from.

Possibly highball glasses, martini glasses, wine glasses, shot glasses...

The last night I was in there, the lads generally had bottles of Budvar (from the bottle, not sacrilege when you feel the heat of glasses late into the evening!) and the girls had wine, highballs or champagne glasses...

As ninebeanrow says any interesting beer glasses don't stick around, I like Will's story about the shoe deposit, might be worth considering?

I like porterhouse central, not as great a beer selection as their temple bar branch but is normally easy enough to get the lads to head there...

Odd how it doesn't apply in the UK or most of Europe!!

In Amsterdam there is a bar that if you want to drink Kwak from the proper glass with the wooden holder then you hand over a shoe as a deposit. Its put in a basket and hoisted up into the ceiling. When you return the glass you get your shoe back.

We tried that years ago with a nail boeard for the shoes. The result, lots of left shoes after closing time, no Kwak glasses. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

Howdy all,
I'm starting a microbrewery in Tuam Co. Galway. Some of you have met me already but this is my first time officially saying...yup, I'm going to do it!

As part of my research on the brand and so on I want to "interview" a variety of potential customers - either in person or via a survey. A cross section of some frequent drinkers and infrequent drinkers. Novices and connoisseurs (or whatever they might be called) - What they like, why they like it etc.

I've no problem finding people who like to talk about beer except for one issue...there are all men (apart from me)! So 2 questions: are there some women here on this forum who I could talk to and secondly is it allowed to post a survey on Beoir?

All the best,
Sarah
