Seems lke the craft beer segment, in Britain al least, is targeting the female market. Not with muck like Corona or Coors but with good flavoursome beer.

I was at a beer festival in Nancy Blakes in Limerick last week and a sizeable chunk of the beer drinkers were women. Good to see as in my opinion women bring a less geeky and more civilising approach to most occasions.

Its a stange one - 'The Female Market' - people automatically assume women have lighter pallets and different tastes
- in my experience of giving beer to the ladies (careful terminology required) their tastes are much the same - which isnt a surprise - the only beers that arent usually a hit are the mega IPA or a heavy imperial stout - that said - they can be hard going for blokes new to the craft beer thing as well.

Its great to see loads of women drinking craft beer - your right it definitely helps change the stereotype of the geek 'dungeons and dragons' craft beer drinker and it also helps change the stereotype of the lady 'light 1/2 pint' drinker !

I was talking to a female craft drinker over the weekend- She said that she would drink more craft if there was more 'female orientated' glasses- i.e. no pint glasses. She was drinking 8 Degrees from one of their tulip glasses.

But but but surely it's, "A glass of white wine for the ladies, or a suitable fruit based drink"?

The only problem with having 1/2 pint glasses is the peculiar Irish publivans mathematical logic. Example:
