Production of Kilmeadan was moved to Ballyragget. There was a move in the county to boycott the cheese as a number of jobs were lost in Kilmeadan village and area when the factory closed. I don't have any data on how effective that was but the brand is not as noticable on shelves here as it once was. It may be partly that and the influx of cheaper brands into the supermarkets.
As for how that translates to the beer market...I read on here somewhere that there isn't a lot of brand loyalty in the craft beer market and I think thats true. We all have our go-to beers but we also want to try lots of new beers so we all spread our money across the market

Let's be honest, though, is there really a brand that stands out from the rest at the moment?

(I'm not talking about the beers; I'm talking about the brands.)

O'Hara's. Not least because they have a nice nitro Irish stout that's widely available.

Widely available is a relative term. Even OHaras bottles are rare enough around here

Yeah but you have large bottles off the shelf, or off the cooler if you're a city boy.

By widely I really meant O'Hara's beers are available in other countries.
