Kilmeaden is a brand, not a style or a type. It's an important and clever distinction.

The only bit I can find online is that Kilmeaden cheese is made in Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny, but I'll check a packing code on an actual packet later.

If O'Hara's Stout was made in England using the exact same ingredients from the exact same suppliers, and tasted exactly the same, would it put any of you guys off drinking it?

The only thing that would put me off any beer is if I dont like the taste of it,but as I have commented before the idea of being able to go to Limerick or Dundalk and find a local brewery produced beer is what I desire.

Put off, no. But I'd be less likely to buy it. I prefer to choose an Irish-brewed beer in the pub. I like to support Irish brewing.

I do appreciate that trademark is an incorrect phraseology, but the idea is more an appelation style mark.

I think it'd be worth beoir expending some effort in this direction, it's similar to the Beoir approved that was previously discussed but regulated by law and not some private group of whingers©.

I'd be of a similar idea, I'd reject the notion that it is Irish craft beer if it is not produced here. I mean you could have it made in sweatshops in China by Marlboro puffing nappy wearers but it'd also be akin to fraud in my book to call that Irish craft beer.
