...any idea if there's a boon for the Extra Stout drinker this anniversary year? Anything would do...maybe fixing the All-Ireland Hurling championship Deise-wise would be a stretch...or would it???
Compared to the old bottle-drops it would surely be do-able!!

So Guinness' brewmaster is promoting this brew as having "zing." Zing? A supposedly honorable professional learned in all things of malt, hops, and yeast wants to tell me about his new brew's "zing?"

Spending a week drinking far better pints at the B&C and Porterhouse has helped me recognize Guinness (the beer that opened my eyes to the world of beer better than Miller, Bud, Coors, etc.) as a rather pedestrian pint, though still standing a few cm above the other swill just mentioned.

This bit of marketing drivel drove the stake through any hope I had that there were at least a few folks left to give the old firm some gravitas. Zing?

It won't be marketed in Ireland? I suppose this will help assure the folks who work in Ireland that folks won't stand on the streetcorners and jeer (or maybe zing?) them as they commute to and from work.

I suppose I will try to find a bottle of this marketing jeenyus beer if for no other reason than to see if there really is any quantifiable "zing" to be had, and report on the experience to those much closer to St. James Gate on the dubious privilege they have been denied.

In fairness that development is infinitely more interesting than anniversary stout.
