Thank you for the feedback Stephanos. If ever doing a similar question to 10, I'll certainly bear the explanation of answers in mind. Re a balanced view, in so far as possible that has been sought. The link has been put on all possible sites both connected to the company and un. Judging by the results, as fair a balance as possible has been achieved.

To Tube and Dr. D, from a strategic branding point of view, the survey structure has been designed to generate responses of use to brand managers or someone wishing to ascertain the outcome of a company's branding strategy.

As I am sure you are aware, not all people are swayed by brands, some consume them subconsciously or simply for functional purposes, the example given in this case, getting drunk. Other consumers put considerable thought into the brands they choose and become, to a certain extent, emotionally attached to them.

Thankfully, I was lucky enough to receive responses from a broad array of beer consumers in this case, many of whom do not drink McGargles simply to get drunk, but also because they deem it quirky, fun, Irish, interesting etc.

I hope this clarifies the structure of the survey in some way for you.

Thanks again to anyone who gave it a go. Your assistance is appreciated.

Tesco in Athlone are also stocking Solas Red Ale as well as Colgans Wheat Beer and Colgans IPA.
These are all from Rye River Brewing.
Colgans must be a new brand and the sales mission statement is about a Colgan Brewery from the 1700s in Kilcock. The current beers being brewed from and old recipe.
The Wheat Beer is pleasant - but probably better chilled and drunk on a sunny day in summer!
The packaging is rather plain and simple in comparison to McGargles but very effective.
"Irish Craft Beer" is prominent on both Colgan and Solas brands.
The Rye River crew are certainly pushing forward.

Passing the 'craft' section in Tesco today, I couldn't help notice the McGargles claim of No.1 Pilsner in Ireland and No. 1 Red in Ireland.
What's the basis for that?

Is that the marketing equivalent of an eight year old saying "because I said so, so there?". On that basis, even though I've never had anyone else taste it, the Saison I've got in a keg is not only the best Sasion in Ireland, but the world. So there
