I really do think we can all learn something from this experience personally.

I think in the vacuum rumour can prosper, and human nature perpetuates that.

As I said to Ian previously I was looking forward to the interview, as I knew a lot of the BS would be put to bed. I was not disappointed.

Now that the whole story is out there, lets move on and support another indigenous Irish company.

I really do wish you the best, and look forward to engaging in a much more constructive and mutually respectful relationship with you and your team, in my capacity as Regional Rep in Midlands.

A full list of ingredients would be good too, and also in the beer drinkers' manifesto[/url:36rofv8h]. I can't find either pieces of information on your sites.

In the podcast you said that when the Kilcock brewery is up and running you'll say on the label it's brewed with pride in Kildare. Why don't the current labels say the beer is brewed with pride in Burtonwood? That's a real question.

But I'd ask you to meet us half way: we've been through Árainn Mhór trying to pull a fast one on us; we have Five Lamps not stating they're owned by C&C (you said in the podcast fair fucks to any multinational who tries to pass off a craft beer: well it's real, and it's Five Lamps) so I hope you can see where we're coming from: there are and have been sharks out there flying the Irish flag and chasing the market for local beer while not being totally up front to the drinkers. It's not personal, we're just conditioned by the experience of being stung to being suspicious.

At Beoir, our job is to to point out to the Irish consumer that paying for a McGargle's beer, today and tomorrow, means paying for a beer brewed in England. When that is no longer the case, please let us know. Preferably on the label. In LARGE letters

Greetings to all seasoned, knowledgeable beoir enthusiasts on this thread,

I am new to the craft beer scene and here to make a request for help of those with more knowledge than me. I started learning about craft beer last month when I was sitting in the pub with friends who were drinking McGargles beer, the brand this thread is about. The whole experience from glass to beer mat to free tankard really got us all taking.

I'm actually a Master's student studying branding. After all the chatter I decided I was going to do one of my papers on the brand. It was then I came across all of your posts, which totally helped me fix my title - Case Study: McGargles 'Brand first, Beer Second': Challenging Industry Norm.

I'm trying to find out what drinkers views are of the McGargles brand (Granny Mary/Gravy Maevey) and products (Pale Ale/IPA). As you're so knowledgeable on the subject, I was hoping you might be able to help an ill-informed but learning student out by taking a quick survey here: www.surveymonkey.com/s/YWS7PVZ

I would be so, so eternally grateful if you could help me out. The survey shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes. Maybe you could take it over a pint of the good stuff?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

A student desperate for knowledge.

did the survey, having non-balanced e.g., (ie all positive) will seriously bias your results. you could also use a box to explain the answers to the 5years time (question 10)

Don't mean to be rude, but that's one of the worst surveys I've ever seen.

lubricated? chatty?

I'm afraid I have to agree with Tube here. Not a very well thought out survey: people only drink to get drunk, right?
