Let's start with a proper DIPA and then do a black in 2015[/quote:1w0zfjvq]
I would love to see a Black DIPA but "softly softly catchee monkey".

So first a DIPA then next year a black IPA

I think we really should get onto Sam and find out the limits he is willing to brew. It's easy for us to come up with a recipe for a 9% DIPA hopped, late hopped , whirlpool hopped and dry hopped with loads of hipster hops but that is really going to eat into our donation money and Kinsales funds.I think we have to not let this get away from us when we're designing a recipe.

Will do so now.

I would also be in favour of a little first wort hopping too.

Sam is up for it. It's all good. He is looking forward to a big beer, it's his sort of beer.

So why not ask Sam to list his basic stock (grains and hops) ingredients, any adjuncts (odds and ends) and an agreement to add say 1 or two not in stock adjuncts and nis hops.

Then all of us who brew can put together some recipes?
