Initially the deal was we get 100 litres between 20 of us i.e 5 litres costing €50pp. When it looked like more people were interested Sam offered to brew 1000 litres between 40 of us and give everyone 10 litres each, still only costing €50pp.

Initially:
20 contributors
€50 each
Brew = 100 litres
Each contributor gets 5litres.

Now:
40 contributors
€50 each
Brew = 1000 litres
Each contributor gets 10litres
Sam gets to sell the rest.

Win-win.

saruman Topic Author Offline Posts: 4268	Remember, Sam is taking a risk by brewing a larger batch. If it goes wrong, we each lose €50 but he loses more than that. The duty has to be paid regardless and probably more important, he has lost the use of a fermenter which might have made him money on his normal brew. I can't imagine anything going wrong but you never know with these things.
