What O'Hara's product is "Buckley's a rename of?

-Buckley's is a LITTLE different in that it's a product created for the B&C; not rebranded for the B&C.

Careful Adam, you are in danger of becoming as pedantic as BeerNut <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P -->

Adam, if there was a 'like' button I would click it.

Saruman, not pedantry. Buckley's isn't a re-badging of anything.

Thread title says Re-badging/[b:1ba9ozjp]branding[/b:1ba9ozjp].

Branding.

A beer made by O'Hara's has been branded Buckley's.

Adam you do have a point but consider this,
you have a brewery that is not at maximum brewing capacity,you are out in the market place looking for new pubs to stock your beer and sell it for you(and get paid). If a publican who is running a business as well believes a beer branded to his/her pub would be good for them then it is good business for you to provide that need. As time moves on and your own brand sales exceed your brew capacity then you can review matters.
There is no snobbery in business.

I'd see no problem with someone else's brand on my beer, like Buckley's brand on O'Hara's.

But I do think that I'd have a problem with re-badging one of my own [i:v8hu9ipo]products[/i:v8hu9ipo]... I'd rather create an original beer, and then stick their brand on it. A good example is O'Hara's and Aldi. The Aldi beer is not that different from O'Hara's Red, but different enough not to be the same product.

Further to this point, half the battle is getting a publican to be bothered to deal with a new supplier,(I'm not old and i remember some bars that didn't have heiniken because it wasn't available for order from guinness) if you are already delivering beer to them, they might be more willing to order a few kegs of your own brand!

I see this as a great part of starting up your own brewery as it is an easy way to start brewing at a higher capacity then you would if you didn't have publican buy in...
