Gauging interest for custom Brew in a bag bags. 15 years 5 months ago #61

The repair shop is currently waiting on parts to fix my machine (looks like it was more broke than I realised ).

Got my grain bag prior to the weekend and brewed with it on Saturday. I'm delighted with the results. The tip in relation to having something shield the bag from the elements is also good one, as now I have a metal strainer covering the two elements. This reduces the fear of the material burning, and that was always at the back of my mind. This also gives me less deadspace at the bottom of the boiler, as I am not now being overly cautious by holding the back too far above the elements.

Looking forward to getting some hop backs once the machine is back from the shop.

Cheers,
Billy.

No issue Billy, glad you like the results. I am reliably told that the machine finally gave up the ghost while your very hop bag was being done, no extra charge though

Got my keggle bag yesterday. Fits keggle like a charm. So far very pleased with that purchase. Hope to see it in action soon

Cheers,

Nice one Jakub, don't forget the tip with keeping the bag off any exposed elements that you have with something like a cake rack.

Machine came back from repairs today. It'll be tested tomorrow and then any outstanding work done and posted.

As an aside, I've found information on a company using Polyester and claiming that it's food safe and they are using it to boil meat in.
They are using heavier netting than voile but none the less it's good news regarding the food safety of voile.
