Beoir is a campaign group aimed at the general drinking public -- it would be counter-productive to share information on quality beer and where to find it inside a special bubble for paying members only.

The Beoir forum is solely for boring nuts-and-bolts Beoir admin and activities. The beer stuff should stay out here where everyone can see it.

Wow thats a lot of reading,

I dont know why peeps are getting so confused,

ICB is for peeps whco like brewing,

Beoir is for people who want to promote and change the general publice perception on Irish craft brews / micro brewerys.

If you like Brewing stay on ICB, if you like craft brews join Beoir, if yu like both then join both and if you like neither well then I dont know why your even in this forum to begin with,

I for one think its a great idea, a credible organisation is the first step in gettin people to stop and take notice.

Im in!

Well, yes and no

I think MAF got it in one sentence.

[quote:va8sxcrm]esentially ICB is evolving into Beoir, with the ICB banner being maintained as the craft brewing section.[/quote:va8sxcrm]

Come July, we will all move to Beoir as a website. It's just a container with a new name. Beoir will be just like ICB is right now, including all the current content. It will be open for all and will have a dedicated part of the forum (as it is right now under Amateur Brewing) community of ICBers focussed on the brewing part.

People who pay to be come a subscribed member of Beoir (as opposed to being a registered user of the website, in a sense) would do so to help fund the consumer advocacy type of activities.

So, yes, everybody will be accommodated and there's not much change. No, as in there's no staying on ICB. We'll all move, but some people can pay a tenner to contribute to the cause, and hopefully get something in return as well as the warm fuzzy feeling of supporting our native breweries and choice.

As TBN said, there's no hiding content other than the minutae of organisational/Beoir activities, which all paid member get access too as they can vote and volunteer and all sorts of stuff. Plus we don't want Diagio seeing the plans

Let's just hope they can't find the tenner needed to gain access

Excellent, I was just thinking about this very thing at the weekend, but I suppose I will let you guys "steal" my great idea.

I paid up even though I am off to S. America in a few months, but I will still be able to contribute to the basics till then.

I have been a member of the AAI[/url:2dm7vkbk] for about ten years now, never an officer however.

I can give a good deal of opinion on how the experience of an "ordinary member" can sour based on the organisations actions, so I would like to see you guys avoid the same issues.
