At the end of the day it is as much about perception (and for want of a better word, marketing) as anything else. The macro interests firmly understand this.
As an aside, as a non-brewing member, I often feel a little alienated from the site, and although I share an appreciation of beer with other members, because of the membership the generated content is of a brewing focus. Beoir seems to be filling a place which ICB hasn't or couldn't, rather than superceding the site. Right?
