Looks like we have our work cut out for us. According to the Coopers site[/url:2mbdtq79], that traditional draught is 420IBU

I hope that is a concentrated number...

Anyway, Are we varying the beers or the all grainers & Extractors brewing pretty much the same beer? Should we mix it up with different yeast etc?

420 divided by 23 litres comes out at around 18 (which is offensively low for a lot of people on this site). I'll be hacking the kit up to about 30, while TBN will be adding nothing but time (and a kilo of sugar).
I know that Sbillings will be producing a blondish ale at about 30 IBU, using Hallertau so we should set the IBU range between 18-30. I suppose the SRM should be less than 10 as well.
Beyond that, I reckon there should be some lattitude. Yes this will be an interesting experiment, but its supposed to be fun as well!

That doesn't take into account they volume of the tin (its 1.25 litres) also coopers like you to take into account evaporation (5 %) during fermentation (unlikely i feel but thats they way they do it.

Forgetting about the evapoartion stuff that makes it (420 X 1.25)/23 = ~23 IBU or about 24 IBU if you buy into their evaporation thing.

Oopsie! Thanks for checking the volume of the initial container Delboy!
It looks like we'll be going for a different kit now, so we'll need to do the maths again and then let people know what region of IBU to aim for, although I think 25-35 seems reasonable.
