[quote:1t95rbi9]It would be good to have someone who hasn't tried it before to give the demo, to show how easy it is...good idea....

It could be like those shopping channels....we can have a few planted people in the audience who cant believe its so easy....we could flog a few AB-busters and knives also [/quote:1t95rbi9]

I appreciate where you're coming from with this but I don't personally believe we should be focussing on the cheap and cheerful approach as it will most likely look cheap and nasty. This site/community has always been about making good beer, whether with all grain, extract or kits - not just cheap beer. Showcasing beer in plastic soft drink bottles is sending out all the wrong signals, i.e. 70s student rocket fuel.

It's a bit of a balancing act, as saying that all you need is to spend €250 on equipment will scare a lot of people off too.
Quality beer done on a budget sounds better than cheap booze.

we could show a good quality kit setup which shouldn't cost more than say €90 and emphasise that the equipment bought can be used over and over again to consistantly produce a good kit beer when used with a high quality kit. to any interseted parties once they're hooked we could explain that the initial investment of €90 can be upgraded to allow them into extract and all-grain brewing, and explain how all this upgrading can be done on a shoestring and over extended periods of time.

TheHombrewCompany.ie Starter Kit is €70 and that is very good value for what you get.

Then it's €27 per brew for quality 3Kg kits, giving you 40 pints. If you want to brew kit beer, that is the way to go.

that works or me maybe we should start pimping this set-up out at the expo, i also like the idea of someone who has never brewed previously being the brewer on the day for the expo.
