Oh dear. So it'll be a pint of Imperial with a Laphroaig chaser for me next time.

Unfortunately I was unable to make it but woudl have love to have been there.

I really cannot believe a member of ICB is complaining about paying 2.50 for a glass of decent craft beer. 2.50 for a glass of MM imperial, O'Hara's celebration etc. and being able to have a free sample before if necessary. As said one would pay as much in most Dublin bars for a pint of regular beers. I really think we are doing craft brewers a dis-service by expecting them to provide their wares at a knock-down prices. I am sure the expense that the out of Dublin brewers had in having to travel up, get accommodation etc. did not even pay for their time at the festival. Also if some people from outside Dublin for example are going to go to the expense of going there specially for the Festival it sure looks mean of people with way less travel expenses complaining about a miserly 50 cert or whatever. We should be enocuraging our craft brewers to attend more of these festivals without those type of miserly comments.

On a related note - Following AFIM's comments I better take more notice in future of cyclists, - in case they are pumped up with decent craft brews!!!!!!

I can't believe the complaints about the price! In Copenhagen I paid 100DKK (€13.40) to get in each day (pre-booking was cheaper, but I forgot) and ok, so I got two free tokens and a tasting glass for that, but the cheapest you could get more tokens for was 11 for 100DKK, making about €1.22 a token. Each token got you 100ml of beer. Except for the ones where it got you 50ml. Or where you had to pay two tokens for 50ml. The British pavilion were giving out half-pints in (rigid) plastic glasses for 2 tokens, plus a token deposit for the glass, so that's pretty much the same price as what they were charging at Farmleigh.

Anyway, I don't think €2.50 is unreasonable for a half pint at the Farmleigh gig at all.

I wasn't complaining about the price I was paying, rather that the price may have scared off people who might be willing to try more if the price was cheaper because if they didn't like it they wouldn't feel they wasted their money
